Case study · Website management system

A custom website management system for Wedding & Event Styling

A secure admin area that lets the client manage galleries, reviews and packages without risking the website's design or its search foundations. Easy for a non-technical team to update content and photos, safely guarded, and connected directly to their live website.

    The system in use

Sign in, edit, save. The website updates itself.

A short walkthrough of the admin area: managing gallery images, reviews and package details, with every change flowing straight through to the public website.

    The brief

A styling business changes its content constantly.

Every wedding produces new photography, new reviews and, over a season, new package pricing. Emma and John did not want to send a request and wait each time, and they did not want a general purpose page builder where one wrong drag rearranges a carefully designed page.

The requirement was narrow and clear: give the team full control over the content that changes, and no ability to damage the parts that must stay stable.

    What the client controls

Three modules, built around their real workflow

    Galleries

Upload, reorder and retire photos per collection. Images are resized and served in modern formats automatically, so nobody can accidentally publish a 12 MB file and slow the site down.

    Reviews

Add, edit and feature client reviews. The layout, star rating and structured data are generated by the site, so review markup stays valid for search engines every time.

    Packages

Edit package names, inclusions and prices in plain fields. Pricing sections rebuild themselves in the approved design, so a text change can never break a layout.

    The guardrails

Freedom to edit, without the risk

The reason most small businesses stop updating their own website is fear of breaking it. We removed that risk structurally rather than with a training document.

    Content, not code

The team edits values inside fixed fields. Fonts, spacing, colours and component structure sit outside the editor and cannot be altered by accident.

    Search foundations locked

Page titles, headings, canonical tags, image alt handling and schema are generated by the build. Content updates cannot strip the SEO foundations of a page.

    Authenticated access only

The admin area sits behind email and password authentication with row-level security on the database, so only approved accounts can read or write content.

    Reversible by design

Every record is stored in a managed database with backups, so a mistaken edit or deletion can be restored rather than rebuilt from memory.

    How we built it

From content audit to live control panel

    01

    Map the content

We listed everything the team actually changes during a season: gallery collections, reviews and package details.

    02

    Model the data

Each content type became a database table with clear fields, ordering and publish states.

    03

    Build the admin area

A simple, phone-friendly dashboard: sign in, pick a section, edit, save. No jargon, no page builder.

    04

    Wire it to the website

The public site reads directly from the same database, so a saved change appears on the live site in seconds.

    The outcome

The website keeps up with the business

New wedding photography goes live the same week it is shot, not the next time a developer is free.
Reviews are published by the team, with valid review markup generated automatically.
Package changes are a form edit, so pricing on the site always matches what is being quoted.
Design, performance and search foundations stay exactly as delivered.
